Terms of Service
Last updated: 20 July 2026
These terms govern your use of the Africnam platform. By creating an account, funding a wallet, or accepting a clinic checkout, you agree to these terms. If you are using Africnam on behalf of an employer, cooperative, or clinic, you confirm you have authority to bind that organisation.
1. The service
Africnam operates a multi-tenant SaaS platform that lets employers fund cashless health wallets for their workers, lets clinics accept those wallets at the point of care, and settles the resulting flows across 26 African nations. The service is provided as-is and evolves over time.
2. Accounts and roles
You must provide accurate information when creating an account. Each account is scoped to a portal role (Corporate, Clinic, Patient, Admin). You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for all activity under your account.
3. The 90/10 model
For every unit funded, 90% is routed to a segregated healthcare escrow pool and 10% is retained as Africnam platform fees. Escrow funds are only spendable for care within published caps. This split is contractually enforced.
4. Caps and limits
Micro plan ($3): $50 annual cap, 3 clinic visits maximum. Corporate plan ($7): $150 annual cap plus $100 hospitalisation reserve. Transactions above these caps are automatically denied at checkout. Caps reset annually.
5. Telemedicine filter
Certain benefits are conditioned on a prior triage call with Dr. Ada (our telemedicine service). This is a safety and cost-management feature; bypassing it may result in a denial of coverage.
6. Rollover credits
Unspent escrow at year-end rolls over into your health wallet according to the rules described in your plan. Rollovers are always in-kind health credits, never cash withdrawals.
7. Payments and Mobile Money
Funding and payouts use Mobile Money operators (including Onafriq). You authorise Africnam to send properly signed instructions on your behalf for the transactions you initiate. Operator fees and exchange rates are disclosed at the time of transaction; cross-border figures are reported in USD.
8. Acceptable use
You must not attempt to defraud the escrow pool, share your account, misuse another patient's token or QR, submit false clinic claims, or reverse-engineer the platform. Violations may result in suspension and reporting to the relevant authorities.
9. Clinics
Clinics accept anonymous QR + 6-digit token identification. Clinics warrant that services billed were actually rendered and comply with local licensing. Africnam may audit clinic transactions and withhold settlement pending audit outcomes.
10. Availability
We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. USSD, WhatsApp, and native app channels may be affected by carrier or operator issues outside our control.
11. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by local law, Africnam is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
12. Termination
You can close your account at any time from the settings screen. We may suspend or terminate accounts for violation of these terms, fraud investigations, or regulatory instructions.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the country in which your Africnam operating entity is registered. Disputes are resolved by the courts of that jurisdiction unless a mandatory local consumer-protection rule provides otherwise.
14. Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes will be surfaced in the app and by email. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
